Fact-Finding-Mission to Iraq and Kurdistan-Iraq

26th April - 5th May 2024

Academic exchange is crucial for fostering cultural understanding and sustainable development. It was very inspiring to discuss the implementation of the Bologna Reform into Iraqi higher education at the German Embassy in Baghdad and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) in Iraq at the beginning of our delegation visit, which included 15 people from our university partner network.

We also visited our long-term university partners in the country, such as Tishk International University, the Polytechnic University of Dohuk in the Kurdistan Region, and the University of Mosul.

The result is a commitment to a joint Erasmus+ Capacity Building application to strengthen Iraq's efforts in higher education, research, and internationalization by supporting the implementation of the Bologna Process.
